First Time

WHAT IS SPIN AT RISE CYCLE LIKE? WHAT’S THE RIGHT CLASS FOR ME?

No matter your experience with spin or your fitness level, you will find each of our music-based spin program exhilarating, challenging, yet attainable. In addition to strength and cardio sessions on the bike, we incorporate upper-body movement using your body and free weights. Our instructors are there to help you find something new and grow in each class. However, know that you can take it at your own pace whenever you need a break. Let us know it's your first time and we will make you feel at home, and answer any questions you have.

We designed each class to cater to all experience levels and offer modifications that suit your needs. We do not have an ‘easy’ or ‘difficult’ class level. Each class is challenging, yet achievable. But, just like doing anything else new for the first time, it takes a couple of classes to get the hang of it. Good thing is you are on a stationary bike and can always sit and listen to music.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST CLASS?

We provide everything (towels, spin shoes, water refill), you just come prepared to sweat! For your first class please ensure you have an account and a reservation prior to arriving. We recommend every guest to arrive 15-minutes early for their first class. This way, we can check you in, show you around and help you get set up on the bike. Everything at RISE CYCLE is complimentary (lockers, spin shoes, towels, etc.). Make sure you wear proper workout gear and have a water bottle. We use dedicated spin shoes that clip into your pedal. For your safety, late entries are strictly not permitted, no exceptions. It takes about 5-minutes for us to set up your bike, and to get a feel for the spin shoes, so if you arrive 1-2 minutes before your first class, we may reschedule you for another ride in which we can ensure you are properly and safely set up on the bike. In addition, we incorporate upper-body weight segments which will tone and strengthen your arms, shoulders, core, and chest. You have the ability to adjust the resistance level to suit your abilities or modify movements that work for your body.

I HAVE NEVER DONE SPIN / AM I IN GOOD ENOUGH SHAPE?

Everyone is welcome! We do not have different ‘levels’. Our program is designed so that you are able to adapt to your own fitness level. You have the ability to choose the modification or adjust the resistance level that suits you best. You will feel more confident and stronger after each ride.

I AM PREGNANT, CAN I SPIN?

Spinning is a great way for expectant mothers to stay fit because it is low impact, you can get your heart rate up while sitting, and you can always take it at your own pace. Please consult your doctor about which forms of exercise are safe for you, particularly before starting something new.

Although our space did not allow for a gender-neutral change room, RISE is inclusive of all people, and all identities. We invite you to use whichever change room you feel most comfortable in. You have our full support.

We provide complimentary spin shoes with each class. Our shoe sizes range from 4.5 all the way up to size 15. We use Look Keo cleats (3-holes).
